Vespa pk50 engine dies

I'm new at these things. I need some help. My Vespa pk50 starts well and after a little while the engine dies. (it looks like it runs out of fuel). Then I wait for 5 minutes and it starts well again.

I've changed the fuel tap and cleaned out the carburator.

I don't know what else to do...

Help please.

I had this problem, and it was the original fuel cap, it was rusted and made a totally airtight fuel tank. Replaced it with new, modern looking one, and problem solved.

Hello nunotattao,

please check your pickup maybe it`s damaged.

Kind regards

Have you solved the Problem?
You gave no answer.

The problem could also be caused by a blocked air vent in the fuel tank cap.
- try running the engine without fuel cap, then see what happens.
- If it works, change fuel tank cap
