Vespa 125 ET3 tuned - Italia

Hi,
I’m from Italy and I write you in English, please excuse me but I don’t know German language.
I’ve got two Vespa:
125 Primavera and 125 Primavera ET3
I’m interest to legalise my tuned ET3 in German, at TÜV. Please could you tell me what kind of conversion are possible to legalise at TÜV in German?
At the present moment these are the main technical characteristics of my ET3 (of 1977):

  • POLINI 130ccm racing Kit tuned, „turned“ 180° montage;
  • Carter tuned;
  • DELL’ORTO carburetor 34;
  • ZIRRI exaust for 130ccm for „turned“ montage, modified with Malossi’s muffler;
  • PK 125 fork;
  • BITUBO shocks front and rear;
  • GRIMECA disc brake kit 20 mm + hydraulic conversion kit;
  • TOMMASELLI quick action grip 90°;
  • FACO mudguard (similar to PX);
  • AQUILA seat (similar to Gaman);
    etc.

Thanks in advance.

Yours faithfully
Maccio

watch out for „SECS“ (a scootershop) and „Jockeys Boxenstop“ (located at Pfarrkirchen near Passau, working together with Tüv), they will know how to handle your Problems. Its more expensive than just going to the normal tüv, but you sure to get your entrys.

Hi Vespa4live,
thank you for your reply.
I tried to send an e-mail to S.I.P. about 2 years ago but they didn’t reply to me. I think they aren’t interest to do this kind of service.

Thanks
Maccio

PS: Some my friend of Parma registered this domain:
http://www.et3.it

however, at the present moment, is under construction.

hmm, same procedure as every time…

it strongly depends on the place of the Tüv you are going to and on the technical examiner who is going to check your vehicle. The best way is to talk to the examiner before trying to take the check. If the examiner is not willing to give you the entrys, just try the next one. There are a few Tüv places which are well known for giving you all of the entrys you´d like to get.

ask the S.I.P. people. mayby they can do that…

Hi Jägermeister,
thank you very much for your reply and help.
I decided to legalise my tuned Vespa ET3 in German because in Italy that kind of operation is pratically impossible. For example, in my town (Parma) there is small firm that customize Harley Davidson and legalise the tunings in German at Tüv. Unfortunately, they don’t work with Vespe. They export the motorcycles in German, register them to a person resident in German and, once the Tüv had legalised all entries and conversions were wrote in the documents, bring back the motorcycles in Italy for registration at Motorizzazione Civile. Then, Motorizzazione Civile (“similar” to your Tüv) can’t refuse to register a vehicle approved in German. Obviously this is absurd but… is the Italian law.

To know that “there are a few Tüv places which are well known for giving you all of the entrys you´d like to get” is a very nice news!

Maybe… do you know trusty people or firms, in your Country, that can do this kind of service? Obviously, I would bring personally my ET3 in German and then I would bring back. I would pay only for service, documents and Tüv’s examination.

Thanks
Maccio
