I have an option of buying a PK50SS stator and flywheel to fit the small taper (19mm) crank, What else to I need to do to convert to 12v AC and electronic ignition.
Need to buy a CDI, do I need a voltage regulator, where to mount on a '68 V50?
Change all bulbs to 12V and change horn to 12V AC.
Wiring diagram anyone, I think I can use the 6V PK50 wiring diagram as a start with no battery.
Timing will be an issue.
Currently running a Malossi 112cc kit, long gears and 19mm Delortto carb.
Am I dreaming??

Dimitri, I ended up buying the PK50ss stator and a CDI to match after double checking the wiring diagrams available, I have yet to install it as I have 2 other scooter projects on the go, But I don't see any problems with this installation. This will give me the 12 volt conversion and electronic ignition that I was after.
I will have to install the CDI somewhere out of the way, maybe even where the coil would normally be situated on the back of the engine housing.
Did you get to the bottom of the engine overheating problem, and get the speedo working??
Dimi
run a search on the yahoo smallframes group, it will have been covered before.

Hi dimi,
it would be really nice to know how you would install the electric ignition Kit and a 12V conversion.
Once you will have a time to do it… maybe you could make some pictures of your steps
for a mini „tutorial“?
My engine is totally rebuilt by a vespa mechanic to accomodate the Pollini 115 CC Kit
with a bigger crankshaft , bigger transmission and the engine
case worked from inside to a bigger space around the crank and a bigger intake whole.
All that modifications allow me now to drive without overheathing probs ( yet ) and have more
torque power - fingers crossed
My speedometer appeared to be not working - after examining it the mechanic told me its pure decoration.
i might purchase a new one, but not sure what complete parts i would need with it and how to intstall it … looked on the scooterhelp … didnt find any tutorial …
Dimi, good luck with the projects
looking forward to hear your results
cheers
dimitri
