Torque value for SIP tubeless rim's nuts

Hi,

I need the torque value for the 12" nuts of the 2.10 SIP tubeless rim.

Thanks.

I am amazed no one at SIP has answered this question yet, but then I am still waiting for them to reply about a recent complaint I made when my rear wheel actually came off the hub. I am less than happy with the lack of interest they appear to show in the nasty accident I had due to wheel nuts failing.

For what its worth, BEEDSPEED have a list of toque settings for vespa and say that wheel rim nuts should be torqued between 14 and 16 Lbs ft of torque (18.9 - 21Nm approx.)  I amk not sure if this applies to the nuts for the SIP alloy wheels though.

Me, I would also make sure that the wheel studs are more than the 11mm depth of my rear hubs ones, which is why we are guessing the nuts failed and the wheel sheared off.  More modern LML hubs have 16mm deep studs on them.

I would also make sure you use threadlock on the nuts before you torque them up.

Thank you Colin!

I also need that!!! I do not want to overtight them![quote user="nicecat"]

SIP don't care about this problem as i have asked the same question.

Two of my hub threads on two different scooters failed after fitting the tubeless rims.

All they said was my hub studs were worn.

Amazing that as one of the hubs was brand new.
