I’m thinking of buying a SIP sportseat for my T5 classic, but was wondering whether I would still be able to fix a carrier/rack ?
They usually rely on the big pointed seat fastening stud and some of the tank bolts to hold them in place don’t they?.. and if I removed these (as I would have to to fix the SIP sport seat on), surely it wouldn’t be secure enough???
You can make it work, but you have to cut the bottom back edge away so the bracketry will go under. Anything is possible if you want to do it. Couple of things to think about here. You want a sports seat, For looks presumably. With a rack? Each to their own I know but the look isnt quite, err, sprinter, is it. The other thing is those seats arnt exactly comfy, and if you want a rack, Id work on a theory your doing distances. Why not look at a sports seat with a stainless lambretta sebring rack. I wouldnt even contemplate chrome ones, they always go rusty, unless you Love polishing.
