SIP Rear Shock P200

I just bought an SIP Shock Absorber for the Rear of my 1980 P200E

The shock is about 2 inches or 50mm (roughly) too short.

It's shorter than the stock Armstrong rear shock I had on the scooter.

Do I need the "distance nut" that SIP sells, or is there another way.  It's just too short.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thank you,

Chris (Vader19)
