Regarding my new DR 68cc, Evo Racing cylinder

First off I’ve got a „Peugeot Speedfight II 206 WRC“ so I’m not sure if it was correct of me to select a cylinder from the „Speedfight II 50ccm AC 2T `2-“ category but my Motor had the Cylinder Restriction removed so I hope it’ll fit.

I’d like to know how heavy the Variator rolls should be?

I’d also like to know what % the Variator spring should be?

Thanks in advance.

Buy a set of Polini Tuning rollers.
You have 4 different weights of rollers in each set, the sets are divided by range, from extra light to extra heayy. The set is about 12 euros here, so if you have an idea of the range you’re working on thats fine. Quality is very good, you could almost let them in the variator instead of buying real ones !
After that stay on Polini for the rollers, they are much better lasting.

For tuning, I would suggest you to keep the contraspring as soft as you can with light rollers, you will have a better powerband like that with that method. RPMs from the start, no loss in top if contra/ rollers are well combined. For example, insted of changing your 7g rollers for some 8.5 ones, try a softer spring. But each bike reacts different, so its up to you now !

Concerning rollers, you will have to try a little to find the good setup. As your new pipe has certainly a higher powerband than the stock one, go for lighter rollers, 1g by 1g. And as the bottom powerband should have increased, try a bit harder clutch springs. Buy a Malossi or Polini set, they have different thicknesses.

Sweet, thanks alot.

The Clutch springs are correct, I tried some of those that came with the Hebo Race Clutch so that should be fine. I’ve changed the Variator Spring too, it should be correct according to the 68cc Cylinder but the hardest part is the Variator Rollers, 7G was way too light … 13G is way too heavy … It’s a nightmare and it’s expensive each time I buy a new set of rollers but I guess I’d just have to keep trying then.

I forgot to tell you a good site to visit. You run a Peugeot but go on the AF1 forum. Thats the best forum for Aprilia bikes, real tons of advices. Read the SR50 review, you should find some good things
