Racing Cylinder PINASCO 215cc instalation problem

Hi

I've got a problem when installing this kit on a px200e.

The flywheel is scratching against the cylinder.

I'm afraid of working the cylinder with a file or something, because the point where the flywheel is scratching is against one of the ports.

I made an additional gasket to lift the cylinder, but now the ports don't match exactly,

and the performance is lower than expected.

What can be done in such a case?

Thanks in advance.

Hi, the performance is lower because with the additional gasket you rised the port timing, and the squish thus losing a lot of compression. The problem you had is very common, you have just to file the scratching part, don't worry there is enough thickness.

Its just the way it is, I used a rotary tool, (like a Dremmel) to remove the excess material, just be gentle, a little at a time. You might have to remove and replace the cylinder a few times during the process.

I also found that the inlet port on the piston was catching on the inlet of the cylinder, I used the rotary tool here as well, with a fine diamond tip gently on the edge of the port where it was scraping the piston.I don't know of anyone else with this problem or if it is advisable to do what I did.

I know that some people checked and adjusted the ring end gap but I didn't. So far I have done 200km without problems.

I am using a standard Vespa base-gasket and no head gasket.
