Hi there
I have pretty much renovated all the parts on my Vespa V50 and it still wont start. I gave it to a friend of mine who is a scooter whizz and he thinks that it may be the carb, manifold and reed valve I have attached to it.
Its a normal V50n, from the 70's and instead of putting on the normal Dell Orto carb and stuff I have put on a Polini carb which comes with a reed valve.
Could this be the reason it isnt starting? Is there any difference in the 2 carbs? My friend mentioned that the jets are of different sizes on the polini to the dell orto, and also the reed valve worlks differently to the air filter on the standard dell orto.
Can someone help me here as I dont want to spend money on something that might not fix the probs.
Thanks
Matt
