PK XL2 won't go into high revs in rain

Hi all,

I am the proud owner of a PK50 XL2, which is, as far as I know, original, except for the exhaust (Sito+), and has about 15 thousand kilometers under it's belt. Ever since I've had it it hasn't been a huge fan of rain, but recently it's been getting worse; she won't go into the high revs in the rain, or it seems whenever it's very humid. I always warm the engine up before I get going, but even after half an hour of riding the problem remains. Whenever I try to go above 50 km/h (and sometimes above 40) it'll sort of bog down, the engine will skip (won't ignite) and will stay that way until I it gets back down to about 30. After a bit of riding there's also always smoke or steam coming off the exhaust, too (not through the pipe, but off of it). This could be steam from rainwater off the road or smoke from a possible small leak in the fuel line (working on that) dripping onto it, but I've never noticed it until recently.

I'm not sure if I'm imagining things, but it also just seems like she doesn't have as much power as she did when I first got her. Could there be something with the carburetor? Or maybe the cylinder's gotten worn and damaged?

Thanks

Hi,

would change the pick up and cdi box.

Also check all cables/connections at the junction block
