i have just put it all back together and took for a small spin how do i run the pinasco kit in
running in my scoot now with pinaso 213 and it dosent feel any differnt to standerd px timing is set at 18 deg and it dosent pink
it is runnig with a sip perfomance and i have used a mallosi head
gasket main jet is 135 my rear tyer is a 110/80 wide tire kit from sip is there suposed to be a noticeable diffrence with this kit or have i wasted my money.[:(] [:(] [:(]
I didn’t say that it was all in low to mid, I said that since it is considered a touring(several of the places that sell it describe it as such) cylinder its power will be focused there.
Hello Stocks. Dont know if youve got to the Doc at all an hes sorted you out, but timing figures are not a fixed figure. with your set up, and you reckon youre pinking at 18, retard as far as the stator will go, if it still pinks then file out the slots and try it further retarded. Shove some solder down the plug hole and measure the squish whilst youre at it, be worth knowing the figures youve got
i put the gasket on to be safe i will try it with out

whereabouts in this fair green and cherished isle are you stocks.may be able to stop by on me travels.you obviously have a problem somewhere.as for eric78’s suggestion that all the pinasco power is at low to mid revs,how the hell do the ones i build pull 80+ mph.sounds a bit more than mid range dont you think

How are you setting your ignition[?[]
If you are just moving the stator, remember that marks IT, A, give an approximate position for the stator and there may be a need to make small adjustments to the initial setting to attain accurate ignition timing after strobo check.
Check you have it T.D.C right ,maybe if you can with a dial guage.

What difference is it that you hope to notice?
The Pinasco cylinder is quite mildly ported, It is a touring cylinder, you shouldn’t expect a great deal in high range performance, iimprovement is gained in low to mid range.
totally off the subject here but for all those tunning heads around, this is one i havnt heard of in a long time, on e bay there is a pinasco twin induction kit with carbs manifolds etc[[:O]] , whens the last time you heard of one of those[[:O]]
i have just tried the timing at 23deg and it as toatly transfomed
it it is pulling better through the gears but i am worred it will be running to hot the motor is wammer to touch but not red hot and the spark plug looks ok to me should i go back to 18deg or dose any have any info because i dont want to blow it up (cant afford)
take the head gasket out to raise compression.i did say it was optional if it was running too hot and pinking

Try 20.

And adjust the carburation according your changement.

maybe your carb setting tough main jet seem ok.
Try pull choke when reving high if you gain power means you need bigger main jet.
But it seems you don’t have much different power also in the mid.
You should have mixer tube BE3 try BE4 once it worked for me even a BE5 with no prediction.
I would not keep ignition 23.
When you kick for starting you feel enough compression?
Maybe your head not absolutely flat, check it whell before the carb and ignition manipulation.

Carefully! NO thrashing. Very regularly check plug, no 2 up ,check plug regularly, dont exceed 40mph for 100 miles or 60 for next 250, check plug regularly. dont labour engine at all for 500 miles, check plug regularly. lots of gear changes!, check plug regularly, dont over rev.
i thougt it would pull a littel harder and have a bit more top end than a standerd 200[]
