p2 timeing

just got a perfect p2 engine for the t5, scorpion pipe i think, it has msc stamped on it, any way went to check timeing, its no A or IT marks, just one mark on caseing one mark on stator, any ideas? i think it mite be an early p2 motor rather than a px, is there any diff? its non lube which i run anyway .is the 118 jet too small for the pipe, have a chrome simo comin from beedies for it, what would jettin be for that?[:smokin:]

Od P2 engines just had one mark for 23BTDC, 118/120 mj should(?) be fine just keep checking plug colour until your happy. To actually check your timing you need a strobe light and check that the marks line up at roughly 2000RPM. If you get a simonini they should give you details of best jet to use, but if you’ve got a Scorpion on I’d leave it, much better than a Simonini.
