I just installed an in-line spare tire holder and I am very pleased with the look. I know it's not correct for my Super150 (it's really for a '50s GS150) and that I took off my rubber centre mat and that I put on 10" wheels onto my VBC and a million other things, but I'm still quite happy.

My scoot is a daily commuter and I've made changes, as inauthentic as they are, because I prefer them. If I was really worried about it being a pristine scoot I wouldn't have a doorbell by my left foot to activate the air horn. ;)
Seriously, I'm trying to install some Piaggo made Moon hubcaps that I ordered from SIP to go on the spare tire. For the life of me I can't figure out how the clips that are to bolt to the rim are supposed to engage the hubcap. I can't find instructions anywhere, and I've tried all sorts of orientations. They are fitting onto a regular 10" wheel. I imagine the clips are supposed to go through the slots of the hubcap, but I can't get it to work; alternatively I can potentially see them holding the very outside of the cap, but that doesn't work either as the centre alignment is off and wouldn't work all the way around...

I know the hubcap should only work on one side as the other was meant to be attached to the scoot's wheel hub. To hold on the opposite side I'll just drill a small diameter hole in both caps and use some all-thread to attach both sides with wingnuts (kind of like how the SS90 had a bolt through both sides of its caps). I'll figure that part out later -- right now I'm just trying to get one one...
Can anyone help? How do they fit?!?
Thanks for any tips!
No worries. I figured it out. Not exactly the most secure system -- it's held in place by outward pressure. No problems with it staying on both sides of the spare, but on a wheel they could easily pop off over a bump or maybe even with centrifugal force.
Cheers,
