I am building a T5 engine with a Malossi 172 kit , SIP exhaust , P200 4th gear & have a 28mmPHBH Dell Orto carb. Can anyone give me a guide to which jets ,atomiser , needle & slide I should be running with this set up as the carb is a shell at the moment . I know each engine is different but a basic rough guide to carb set up would be handy Cheers
MY T5 HAS 30MM DELORTO AND SIP PIPE
I HAVE HAD MINE DYNO’ED AND RUNS A 120 MAIN JET,X3 NEEDLE AND 264 ATOMISER.
AS A ROUGH GUIDE USING THE ABOVE NEEDLE AND ATOMISER A T5 SHOULD BETWEEN A 118-124 MAIN JET
BUT ALL ENGINES ARE DIFFERENT!!!
BEST OF LUCK [:look:] [:look:] [:look:]
Rotary valve or reed?
‚About‘ a 135 main X3 Needle and AV264 atomiser will be a very safe starting point: You’ll probably want to lean out all 3 (better invest in the additional jets & needles than a new kit!)
Check the MB Developments web-site for a good carburation set-up guide!
Jeez a 120 Main:
Is that on a Malossi 172?, Rotary or Reed Valve?..I might have to come down some on the main.
NB the needle/Atomiser has little to no effect on main jet running (3/4 throttle +).
Are all you Malossi T5 freaks using the cylinder head gasket?
Cheers for that Vespandy just the info I needed - as you say better safe than sorry!
