Long Stroke Crank with Malossi 210

I was reading on Taffspeeds website that using a long stroke Crank with a Malossi 210 is a bad combination and doesn’t work properly! This Is true?
Anyone out there who has used both together and can say different.

hiya, i was going this route to i wanted an mmw er2 read valve, 30mm flat side card with pump
a worb 5 tuned 210 malossi barrel water cooled head std p2 gears jl pipe, wide wheel and i was
going to order a worb 5 60mm laser sealed and polished crank.

ok then any advice as i have bought the crank or barrel yet

cheers del, uk

ps, i want it quick and very fast and of course last for ever :o)

hello,

basically with a long stroke the power band will shift back about 1000 rpm.
This means that you won’t have problem from 3 to 4 but the max speed of course will suffer.
For example :
if at 5500 with a longstroke you have about 19hp, with normal stroke you have 17hp, at around 7000 rpm the power curvs meet and from that point longstroke starts to go down while normal stroke will go down after 7800rpm (about), at 8500 rpm with normal stroke you will have about 19hp, with longstroke 17hp.

What is better?
Longstroke it is easier to drive you don’t feel like you have to search the power at high rpm, but max speed will suffer. If you often go at max speed, or max speed is your ambition, then normal stroke. But you will be forced to squize the gears expecially from 3rd to 4th.

I’m semi considering this my self. What would be the way to go,fit a packing plate under the barrel or 'head or would it be better to have the 'head machined out to suit the stroke?

does the 4 be shorter ???

greetings

i'm also considering a long stroke for a malossi 210 kit. i have a lml 200cc with a malossi exhaust in my stella.(like a px150e) i have the malossi kit already. i also have a t5 26/26 carb. i just need to decide on a crank. i'm new to the scooter scene, but i've read the malossi kit gives high rev power and a long stroke crank will give me some low end grunt. can anyone recommed a long stroke crank ( with a part #.) i'm not building a racer- i just want some more reliable power. any other thoughts on the whole idea/set up? also, price is some what of a factor. think best value. best crank, at best price. thanks.

Thanks for that, Its because I once used a long stroke with a Pinasco 177 kit and the amount of torque was amazing plus it increased the Top Speed plus I had no loss of speed Uphill or Two Up at all

I wonder, if I used a full circle crank that runs out of puff at 7000rpm.

Would a long stroke be a better option for that crank and a Malossi set up if I wanted acceleration up to 100kph? I currently run a T5 4th, Pinasco 213 JL Rightly.

Cheers

Hi ..

Are you talking about the 4th Gear ?
