Is a Malossi 210 and scorpion/SIP exhaust enough?

Hi All,

I was gonny extra tune my 125 but I will just go for a 200. If I get a Malossi 210 to bolt on and a Scorpion/SIP exhaust what can I expect from it top speed and bhp.

Will I be able to tackle winds and hills with just this setup and will I go over 75mph???

I feel you either go with this setup or go all the way and upgrade the carb, clutch, primary gear, porting etc.

Can I have your thoughts on this please??

Regards,

Brian.

Hello Joey, I was speaking to Tam this weekend about his scoot, apparently his autolube wasn’t delivering enough 2 stroke into the engine, this was a 1in50 fault and paul has done all the work required under warranty(even honed the barrel and oversized the piston). The bike is now sitting all day at 70mph according to Paul and Tam should have it back today. Had a cracking time at Leeds this weekend by the way.
:shoot1:[:dance3:]

a mate of mine has the set up you mention, 210 with scorpion pipe and modified head, otherwise standard - gearing, carb etc, and he reckons it’s ok but nothing special, and it still dies in a headwind and uphill, and it’s just siezed! he was on a 130 main jet but it still siezed, not cool! I reckon it was his set up, and he had it all fitted as new in the shop.
I’ve got a 210, T5 carb, 125 main jet, PM20EV pipe, PM Y2K head, matched the casings to the barrel transfers ( at home with a dremel,) and T5 4th gear and it goes like shit off a chrome stick!
I was having problems with pinking (blew 1 barrel, 2 pistons,)until I bought the PM head, and now (touch wood,) it’s going well and quick. It went off the clock with just the pipe, but then Vespa clocks are a BIT ambitious anyway, but now it’s pulling 75+ on a GPS, so I’d say it’s a huge difference.
Whatever you do get all the bits from the same place, I made the mistake of trying to save a few bob and shopped around saving £30 on a head, but it didn’t work properly with the PM pipe, so get it all from the same place.
PS, porting the casings is piss easy, just use the gasket as a template.
Hope this helps a bit.
