Grinding the crank?

I have a PK50xl and currently attempting my first engine rebuild. The engine came with a pinasco 102cc cylinder and shb19/19 carb. Due to the condition of the cylinder, through good fortune I came across  a barely used  DR 102cc kit and new 2.86 upgear kit which I plan on using. I do not plan on racing or driving in city stop and go tracffic but rather cruising through scenic views. Given the components that I have, is there any benefit to me grinding the crank? What do I have to gain from this?
