Front brake shoes rubbing sound

Hi everyone,

I’ve just put some new front brake shoes in. The brakes work really well now, but there is a really annoying rubbing sound as I ride along. It gets faster as I go faster so I end up sounding like a steam train.

What’s happeneing here? Have I got the wrong set or fit them incorrectly? Braking power is really good despite the annoying sounds. Or will this problem simply go away as the brake shoes bed in?

Thanks for your help.

KK

I actually used my dremmel with little sanding cone on it. However a regular flat should be able to give u a nice chamfered leading edge

Hi Avenger,

Thanks for your opinion, I thought it might be something simple like that. what did you use to shave the brake shoes off?

Thanks,
KK

had the samer problem myself, shaved a bit of the brake lining at th point where the cam lifts them up to meet th hub and hey presto no more squeal

Hi Avenger,

Got this problem sorted now, no worries.

Cheers,
KK
