Does anyone have any opinions on how well the Simonini PK125 right hand exhaust would go on an otherwise standard ETS (ie 125 with 20/20 carb)? and if it is possible to fit a spare tyre with it?
If anyone has the down pipe for an original ETS exhaust lying around I would be very interested, also. Or even know where I cna get plans to have one made up.
Did you say that you had a standard PK 125 exhaust, or a standard ETS exhaust?
If you have an ETS one, I might be interested in buying it off you if your interested.
I think with a standard PK exhaust (or even a Sito+) you should be able to fit a spare wheel.
I have seen that SIP stock a right hand Simonini pipe for the PK50, and for the PK125 but I haven't heard any comments as to it's performance. I'd be interested to know if it would be well suited to a standard PK125 barrel with a 20/20 carb.
I think with a standard style PK exhaust you should be able to fit a spare on the left side under the side panel if you have the bracket fitted. (My ETS didn't come with bracket due to exhaust design).
I have a Polini left hand on my ETS at the moment, which means I can't have a spare on the side. I know Leovinci do a left hand exhaust that is pretty much exactly the same for a PK125. Although, my Polini one does perform well with my set up, I do have some minor gripes:
1, it is difficult to get a good fit at the joint between the joint pipe and the main part of the exhaust (mine leaks slightly)
2, around the joint part the exhaust rubs against the inside of the frame (probably when two-up) and has in fact made a hole in the frame (and nocked the spring off once).
If you do get a left hand exhaust, and you want to carry a spare, it might be an idea to get a backrest/carrier with a spare wheel carrier on it.
Personally, at the moment I am thinking of either getting my ETS exhaust fixed, getting a Sito+, or getting the Simonini Right hand one. Though, I wouldn't mind getting some advice as to what the Sito+ and the Simonini Rh exhaust are like performance wise.
No, mine has a standard pk125 exhaust. I've only ever seen the original ETS exhausts on old pictures. would prefer eiyther a right hand exhaust or maybe the leo vinci left hand (if they do one for a pk125?) where you can still fit a spare wheel
Yeh, I've tried that one. The original ETS one has an extra bend in it at the back box end.
Does anyone have an opinion on the Sito plus version of the standard PK exhaust?
I've got a Polini left hand side exhaust on mine at the moment. It goes well, but it is hard to get a good joint with the down pipe, it keeps rubbing on the inside of the frame (rubbed a hole in it), and the spring has come off a couple of times.
is it possible to get an original exhaust for the PK 125 ETS? - I’ve got an engine for my PK50 and its got the standard PK125 exhaust on, rather than the one you see in the old brochures for the ETS, which looks a bit like a black version of the old SS90 exhaust? I would prefer to fit a spare wheel, so I’ve been looking at right hand pipes.
