Enginecase px200

hello

I 've just buy an enginecase px200 and receive from SIP but something is different comparing to my old p200.

There 's a little hole in the enginecase behind the bearing output shaft wheelside . I don't understand why and how the oil will not go out by this hole ?

thank's for your answer

greg

You have got the latest style of casing which is intended to have an INTERNAL oil seal on the output shaft , you can either change your output shaft to match and use the internal seal or I think you can use the older set up and simply block up the hole with epoxy weld or chemical metal of some description but you'd need to get that confirmed. The design was changed because when the original external oil seal fails it allows engine oil directly into the brake drum - oil + brake linings = CRASH !! , the new design is intended to leak any escaping oil behind the backplate - still not a great idea but a small improvement in some way I guess.

Get this confirmed by the workshop boys at siP but I am pretty sure its correct.

Ok, the output shaft is not the same in the deux system, that 's why I didn't understant how it works .

thanks a lot
