I bought a 81 px80 that had a b***n engine. well i got the motor squared away and i am having electrical problems. No spark at the plug. I think it has the wrong ignition switch on it but it is hard to say because i ordered a new one from scootercenter and it was the same one. The wiring diagrams that i can find for the px 80 are really shitty and cant be read. What i can tell is that the ignition switch should have 7 posts on it and not 8 like the one on the bike and the one scootercenter sent me. I am very frustrated and do not know what to do. Any ideas??? or any checks I can do to see if the stator and ignition coil is good. Another problem I have is reading germany so what I have found on the internet doesnt do me any good, as this is a german only bike as i understand. ANY HELP would be appriciated as I have given up all hope.

It sounds like if it does not come from your wiring but more from the ignition, I guess it is an electronic and not points, check if the wires from the stator plate are ok.
Check your timing too, mind you even if it is wrong it should spark.
