Direct manifold

Hi
can anyone tell me what`s the difference between a direct manifold and an ordinary one,sip state in their catalogue that i should use one with my malossi kit and 24mm carb
thanks

cheers stringy
don`t suppose you know if i need a full circle crank or just an ordinary one?
thanks Adrian

If you have a Malossi 136cc Kit on a small frame you will see a large port on the front of the barrel (It may be covered by a blanking plate with Malossi on it).

The direct manifold is a manifold/reed block assembly which does away with the crankcase induction and bolts straight on to the barrel.

If you choose to go this route remember to blank off the inlet port on the crankcase!

A friend of mine converted his primavera to this set up with a 25mm Dellorto carb and it flew!

Good luck.

You can use a full circle crank if you want because the cutaway on the crank web no longer controls the inlet timing, the reed valve does.

The advantage is that you would increase crankcase compression which is a bonus, but if you ever wanted to put the engine back to standard you would have to split the casings and change the crank.

But then who wants standard!
