Just wondering what the prefixes AS, AV etc mean…or more precisely where can you get the technical data about them?
Just finished rebuilding the T5 and I am very pleased, gets to 65 on half throttle after that it bogs out, I know that it is because I am running rich on the main jet but how much of a correction should I make, I have a 130 in and a 120 spare, would that be too much of a jump? Can I get 128, 126, 124 and 122s? I would rather decrease slowly I think.
cheers.
PS Morgoil, I am not at work so if you want to come around and put me right…ha ha ha.[:smokin:]
AV is the standard length, AS is the ‚sport‘ length…its longer and therefore gives a leaner mid-range than the AV.
Atomiser diameter can affect main jet performance (but only if the atomiser is narrower than the main jet). The needle and clip position selected also has a dramatic effect .
You can get jets in 2 or 3 point increments (ie the sizes you list or the ones next to them…YES decrease main jetting slowly + do plug chops (also check your jetting condition at all throttle positions…you can seize a piston at quater throttle too if the jetting is way lean )
MB developments have a good carburation guide www.mbdevelopments.co.uk (it’s in the articles/archive section somewhere)
Full details of your set-up would help people to give you better advice.
