Clean the pipes!

Hi All,

I’ve got a PM19 pipe on my kitted T5. Pulled the end can off the other day and saw that the pipe was pretty chocked up with carbon caking around the narrowest section just before the can…

What do people recommend as a good technique to dissolve / flush all this stuff out? The pipe is chromed so i don’t wanna damage the outside finish.

Thanks in advance.

Hi,
Use caustic soda/hot water mix.
Remove the exhaust .
Plug the end and leave the mix in the exhaust for a couple of days in space with good ventilation.
Do not let the mix have any contact with aluminium parts, or your clothes.
Flush with cold water and blow it dry with compressed air or hairdryer.
PROTECT YOUR EYES AND SKIN FROM CAUSTIC SODA.

I wouldn’t recommend it as such, but a small amount of petrol (< 0.125l) and a match does work, just stay well out of the way as occasionally they will shoot across the floor. Its entertaining to watch too.
But do it outside [:D]
