I have a p.k. 125 with carb problems, ive just ridden it for the first time [scoot laid up for years] when i get to junctions and want to shut the throttle the engine revs its t*ts off,i then release the clutch slightly and the revs die down to a normal tickover,I
ve greased the throttle tube, lubed the cable, stripped the carb, still not right,Any ideas guys? Also their seems to be a small amount of fuel around the air filter, and the bottom of the frame each time i ride it. Thanx[:dance3:]
hi on a two stroke the oil seals flywheel and clutch side seal if they are leaking oil it means air can get in to the crank case and upset the mixture so the engine can run weak the result could be heat seizure or you could hole the piston away to tell is to check the gear box oil if it smells of petrol then the clutch side seal has gone . take of the flywheel and the stator plate and look to see if there is oil around the seal if the seals have gone when idle the engine will rev up and down whith out you touching the throtle hope this helps Gary[:dance3:]
Airleak: You need new seals = get ready for an engine re-build.
Cheers for the help guys
Ill check out the oil seals at the weekend, fingers crossed they
ll be ok Adrian.[:dance3:]
Watcha,
Dont know much but…how about your float in the carb ?
might be sticking and flooding the engine.
Cheers
Pete
Hi vespandy
ive heard about seals going brittle, could you explain to me what problems they cause and why?I
m new to scooters and am a bit confused to why they are so important, usually on cars when seals go oil leaks out and thats it.
Thanx Adrian[:dance3:]
