Big problems

Hello, friends!

Does someone has an idea about this?

I wash my PX last week, and just after, maybe it’s not due to this but I’m not sure, the Woodruff key flywheel-side, (see Art.-Nr. 87060000) is breaking each time.
I want to now if it’s due to my HP4 Flywheel or else, the main center bolt is almost unscrewed each time after starting and running the engine for 2 or 3 minutes, it runs very bad at high revs.

Is it possible that the crankshaft is not running straight?

I really don’t have much ideas about this.

Check the pictures right here :

Hi Mikke, have a close, like with a magnifying glass if needed, for a crack adjacent to the keyway. If it was ok for a long time, Id have thought something has occured. Check crank true-ness with crank in scoot, remove sparkplug and use dial gauge/ piece of wire attached to engine. In theory, and good practice, there should be a gap between the woodruff key top/ flat and the inner face of the keyway. I still would reckon the flywheel boss is split, aka lammy sx flywheel bosses.

the hp4 has a slightly different taper to the crank, lap it in with grinding paste, do it up with an air gun and that’ll sort it. i had a hp4 overtake me on the drag strip once because of this

Ît runs for a year!! Do you think it’s possible?

Please give me a name, mark for the grinding paste as it doesn’t mean anything to me when translated in french. Thanks

Some of my friends had the same problem. And the problem was the cone inside the flywheel.
The little slide, that the wudruffkey goes in to, is’nt deep enough, so you can’t torge the center-bolt up.

I don’t remember how they fixed it, but the problem lied within the HP4-flywheel
